Just the Church of San Lorenzo houses the painting of the Madonna Bianca, the patron saint of the country, which is carried in procession along the streets of the village in the evening of August 17th, with a procession. The Church of San Pietro and part of the cave are illuminated with more than 2,000 Roman torches. Thanks to its beauty Porto Venere becomes UNESCO in 1997 along with the 5 Terre.

You can also reach the 5 Terre by train from La Spezia. From the same station you can take the train into Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino and then visit the Abbey of San Fruttuoso, one of the assets of the FAI (Italian Environment Fund) the most famous and appreciated.
